In the video tape done by Pentrex or Video Rails titled BATTLE OVER DONNER PASS 
the SP was using flangers to clear the snow when the lead locomotive "rolled 
the rail" over. To get the truck back onto the rail the SP used large and small 
blocks of oak for a ramp. That was the easy part. The next thing was getting 
enough M.O.W. forces up the mountain to get the rail turned back up and 
re-spiked into place. I know this is "non-CB&Q". But it does apply to the 
question. And yes the the proper people were notified. No "cover up" here.
