I was seven years old in '56. I started watching trains at least three years 
earlier.  I was in Columbus, and watching trains, until 1967 (graduation).

Both the gents I referred to looked pretty young to me (not as old as my 
father, anyway, who was 38 in 1956). They seemed to come and go at times, so I 
guess they were using their seniority to get better jobs.
