I think all of us have a story like this... Mine was a block down from my  
home here in Aurora, IL where the EJ&E Aurora Branch crossed Highland Ave.  
That was my first cab ride. I rode with the crew from that crossing down to 
the  end of the line at the corner of Woodlawn and Garfield. Just to the 
west of the  old "J" freight house was my Grandfather's Mobil Gas Station. 
Grandma watched me  climb off the engine and called my Mom in a panic... do you 
know where your son  is???
 
I was 5 or 6 at the time!
