Duncan I think I know the type of car you are talking about..... IIRC they are steel sheathed wood cars. Some of the Pullman steel sheathed cars had the rib above the letterboard as well. If you have

Duncan On page 5 of Zephyr #53 is a B&W photo of 3537 taken from the baggage end of the car, at Corning in August 1950, as part of a short history by Jim Christen about the Tarkio Valley Branch line.
