Rupert, I think it is simply deterioration of the color slide. The color, in my opinion is standard reefer yellow. With a little adjustment, the attached is about how I think it should look. Bill Bar

I agree; I think the car is yellow. The gold box cars had extra lettering about the Q being the RPI award winner. The reefer has no such lettering and I think it would if it had been painted gold for

Thanks to the respondents. Certainly all the 1937 Plattsmouth reefers received the standard BRE, FGE and WFE yellow paint. I think, though, that gold is a more appropriate colour for a Burlington car
