All, While looking through some early photos of Burlington depots on Lines West I noticed small numbers underneath the depot name on the ends of some of the depots. They seem to be on photos of depot

My guess is that it was the year painted There were also some locations where the mileage from some designated point was painted, but these numbers don't seem to be that kind of number which would be

I would agree with Pete that these are paint dates. Even the St. Francis, Kan., turntable, which is now in use at the Colorado Railroad Museum, had its last paint date (1927!!) stenciled on it when i
