March 5, 2014 Gene - Looks to be a three digit number with may be the last digit being an 8. If CB&Q, the locomotive could be Class A-2 No. 208. The Corbin book states 208 was retired in 1910, may be

Although the bottom of the picture says Winnebago, this is a photo of Homer, NE. It's a good possibility that the engine may be a GN. The GN built the northern portion of that line from South Sioux C
