Gene - Looks to be a three digit number with may be the last digit being an
 8. If CB&Q, the locomotive could be Class A-2 No. 208. The Corbin book
states 208 was retired in 1910, may be a wreck victim. The pilot looks to
similar to if not a match with other Class A-2 locomotives.

All,
Have another question that I found. This is a picture of an engine in a
depot in Homer Nebraska. Postcard says #3 arriving on 7-15-09. Can’t read
the number on the engine but the pilot makes me wonder if it is a Q engine or
possibly a GN. A GN engine doesn’t match the date since by then the Q
owned the line. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
