List, I have seen (and have) lots of pictures of EA shovel nose A units combined with an E-5 B unit circa 1949 - particularly on the Twin Cities route pulling the TCZ. This combination would produce

Jeez, it' Monday. I meant to say "I know what happened after the EA A units were turned into "boosters" and they were used on such trains as the Empire Builder and North Coast Limited." Rich G. --Ori

Rich- The EB units seemed to have been used less (or at least caught on film) than the EAs.   Apparently the 600 HP was enough of a difference.   I vaguely recall a photo of the two in a lashup; but
