- Gerald, you're correct ! An "INSIDE HOSTLER" was qualified (usually) to move engines in and around the friendly confines of the RH service tracks (RH walls notwithstanding or, possibly, not STANDING)

- Tks Karl. As those rules were pretty consistent among Class I RR's I wondered because when I was with C&NW, there was only one class of Hostlers @ Proviso. Loco's needing to be taken beyond the 'Ramp
