- Jerry Three of the last 4 of the "widowmaker" boxcar waycars were scrapped at GT on 1/4/56. They had been in service on the Zeigler & Buckner mine jobs at Christopher and the Old Ben # 9 job at West

- I have heard the term "Kansas City Waycars" applied to these WWII temporary cars..... Apparently the Santa Fe did similar conversions, also used in KC; maybe the Frisco too. Charlie

- FW&D(C) had one bay waycar 82. It was a home rebuild with pothole windows from a wreaked F7, side window from a E-5 and a truck door in the window with a working window. Will ________________________

- I really don't mean to put down any fans of the FW&D personally but things like this waycar only help confirm my suspicions of the FW&D really being the down and out "hillbilly cousin" of the Burling
