Did the Burlington continue icing refers in the mid-60s? I've seen pictures of refer cars from 1965-70 that were still in service. Did they still use icing platforms for these. James D. McDonald == J

James, Yes, reefers were iced at least into the mid 70's . I used an ice company in Burlington, Iowa that used a truck with a scissors lift to ice carloads of spuds. I left there in 77 so we iced car
