Ah yes Burton, I recall those cereal box trains. I did have a few of
them, but at 80 my memory does have some blank spots. Not lots, but
enough hat those memories need a bit of giggling to bring them back,
VBG. Truthfully, I was deeper into airplanes at that point than the
trains ( The trains were there of course on their 4x8 table, but from
the time that I knew what an airplane was, I wanted to be a fighter
pilot - Flying Tigers, Wildcats, Thunderbolts, and Mustangs, et al.
Still the cereal box ones were printed , not hand drawn as these are, so
I stand by my assessment. Most likely a Dad ( or Mom ) did them for
their child, as mine did for me for things that I liked.
Thanks for tugging on that memory string. Memories, in the main, are good ones. Others get buried much deeper. CB&Q content - I love my E-7's and Blackhawk passenger cars, along with F3's, and other Burlington goodies. John John C. Willis Mostly great memories.
