Thank you all for your advice. I believe I am trending towards the Tru-Color paints as espoused by Richard Gortowski. I have a friend who is an expert airbrush painter and he agrees. Even better he said he would be happy to paint my locomotives which is really great news as I am a bit of a rookie in that department. 

 

Thanks again to all in this wonderful group. When the paint is dry and the decals are in place I'll send a photo of my Twin Cities Zephyr rolling across my Chicago Swing bridge. But you best be patient.
