I believe he's asking specifically about acrylic paints. I am using Tru-Color exclusively since the demise of Scale Coat I (lacquer) and Polly Scale (acrylic,) but Tru-color is a solvent based paint. They have a great CB&Q basic color - TCP-240 Box car red. Using the Tru-Color - TCP-330 CB&Q Gray #2, you can mix the fresh box car red down to multiple shades of red to represent fading prior to weathering (see attached.) The have the Mineral red, several different CB&Q grays, Chinese red, Pullman green, Aluminum, and WFE Yellow for the BREX/WFEX, and FGEX reefers. It sprays well and dries glossy. As mentioned, it is a lacquer based paint and needs to be applied over a primer coat for good adhesion. On the acrylic side, I do use Vallejo German Red Brown Primer 73.605 and UK Bronze Green Primer 70.607 for the Indian Red and Bronze Green for my depots.
