Guess I wasn’t persistent enough. I’m guessing that the installed PC board has to go so all wiring is thru the decoder?

Brian,

 

This is tricky. You need to GENTLY spread one end of the body while twisting the floor to remove it.  It’s been a minute since I did this with my Mark Twain Zephyr. The brass body will spring back after the GENTLE spreading.

I’m trying to install an ESU sound/DCC controller in my Challenger “Texas Rocket” #9901. I can’t figure out how to get the chassis out. I’ve removed all visible screws and hold downs. The chassis slides in the shell, and I can lift one edge up, but I can’t get it past the curved part of the side sills.

 

A little help?
