When the Dome-Dorm-Buffet cars were B.O. or out for maintenance, the KCZ/ARZ 
cars (which were Buffet-Coach-Domes) were often used, which required a FLOWER 
(6-6-4) car to be used for the dorm (and placed behind the baggage car).   I 
once did a clinic (now over 20 years ago) related to "foreign cars" on the CZ.  
 I wanted to determine which of the myriad, new cars then coming on-line 
(Walthers at the time) could be used.   So I ended up with "a few" of my 
"favorite" cars in the closet along with 7 sets of CZ cars.  I've since trimmed 
it back a bit.   But it was amazing how many BLI cars it took to cover a 
consist - it was always somehow 1 away. 

The BA-19 Havelock baggage cars were often seen on the CZ - CZ baggage cars had 
a propensity to picking switches and simply derailing.  The baggage car that 
holds "overflow" and storage for the Pullman Library is #993.  "Somewhere" I 
have memos between CB&Q/NP/GN & SP about the possibility of sharing drawings.  
SP had seen the BA-19 rolling into Oakland and liked the simple, clean look.  

The CZ dome coaches had bigger windows than DZ, TCZ, ARZ/KCZ cars.  The only 
dome coach that was quite similar were the MP Colorado Eagle cars - that 
because when ordered, they were part of the CZ consortium (but backed out as a 
meet at Glenwood Springs meant untenable times departing St. Louis).   In HO, 
the Con-Cor domes are TCZ cars, with obvious issues (mostly, skirting - but 
remember, those were state of the art 45 or so years ago).  The CZ 6-5s are not 
the same - the main external visual difference is the corner of the doors.  The 
1952 CZ Augmentation 10-6s are more like the DZ cars (those you can get from 
Oriental models at least - likely Shoreham or Railway Classics as well).   

The Dome Buffet & Observation cars shuffled a bit in the last 10 years of 
operations.  The TCZ, ARZ/KCZ, DZ all participated.  One thing folks don't 
really think about - the concept was that cars had a 15 year life.  You look at 
how many are rolling today, and it's a testament to the materials chosen 
(mostly stainless).  The build quality of a Budd was inferior to that of P-S - 
but the materials made that moot.  

I likely have the foreign car spreadsheet and the clinic somewhere if there is 
interest.  Oh wait...  if you look at  
https://www.pullmanlibrary.org/DataLink.html there are the files.  The Budd car 
classifications (the 3rd & 4th number in the Job number) document is there, as 
are the Budd drawing nomenclature.  

Interestingly, there are a lot of CZ variants out there in plastic & brass.  
Not so much for the CB&Q's flagship (DZ).   I've been campaigning for a model - 
I was told "it's the same as the CZ, so...."
