  Being from LaSalle, here are a few of my favorites.

 

Peru:

 

Igloo Driving on the west end of 4^th st. Best pork tenderloin sandwiches , homecut fries washed down with Green River soda.

 

Lou's Lagratto a block and one half blocks west of the Igloo. Very good Pizza

 

Cabin Fever just off Route 80 at the Peru Exit. At the top of the ramp, turn right (N) and then turn left at the light. Go past the Shell  Gas station. The place is about a block north of the gas station. Nice bar with good bar food. Great Deep Fried Mushrooms.

 

Liberty Family Restaurant off the same Peru Exit off Route 80, but turn left at the top of the ramp and head south on route 251 about two miles. Go past the Peru Mall, Hy-Vee grocery store and Culvers. The next stop light will be Shooting Park Road. Turn right at the light onto Shooting Park. About a block and one half on the right is Liberty. Nice family style menu. Lots of Homemade Pies in the display case to choose from.

 

 

LaSalle:

 

Uptown Grill on 1^st Street is supposed to be excellent. I've never been there, but friends say it's the best.

 

 A few blocks west on 1^st street and down the hill is the old RI depot and the mainline now used by Iowa Interstate RR. Go East on 1^st Street until you run into the railroad tracks. This is the X Illinois Central Gruber line (Charter Line) between Clinton and Freeport Illinois.  A couple of tracks still remain of what used to be the yard. Look South and you will see the Mile Long Bridge across the Illinois River. The bridge is still used by a company that still services the old Marquette Cement Plant in Oglesby.

 

Others in the area include:

 

Spring Valley - Verucchi's (good Irtalian)

 

Ladd - RIPs (great fried chicken) Get there early as the lines to get in could be long

 

Oglesby - Garzanelli's

 

Utica - Starved Rock Lodge located in Starved Rock State Park

 

That's about all I can come up with at the top of my head.
