Ottawa:
first is Casa Mia in Naplate (219 18th Ave. Ottawa)for dinner but good luck getting into the place.Make a reservation.its small and everything is awesome but its expensive but worth it as long as you Are looking for steak,chops,fish,etc. It’s been there forever but theres only a couple handfuls of tables. They wait on you hand and foot.People drive for an hour or more to go there. It’s right down the street from the old Ottawa Silica pit and National Platte Glass plant.
2)Hanks Farm on rte 71 a few miles east of town is an old style supper club. Run by the same family now for four or five generations. If you’re staying at the hotels on Rte 23 go east on 80 to Rte 71 and then south about a 1/4 mile. Much faster than going through town.
3) I cant find the name but on East edge of town just off rt71(Norris dr) south side of the old R.I. Tracks. More of a soup,sandwich,salads kind of place but big portions. The street its on crosses the R.I. Tracks At an angle. Across from the Chevy dealer.
4)Lone Buffalo 812 la Salle- burgers,etc,beer,bison burgers,etc. good food. downtown.
5)Woodys Steak House 1321 La Salle. As the name says it’s a steak place so be prepared for good food at $$$.Downtown.
6) Annes Hideaway(323 railroad Ave. Ottawa). dinner only. it’s in Naplatte 4-5 blocks from Casa Mia and right next door to the old National Plate Glass factory. More room than Casa Mia. Similar menu and people really like this place but i prefer Casa Mia.
La Salle: 1)The Uptown Grill is downtown. 601 first st. Couple blocks off the river. Bigger than Casa Mia but every bit as good and expensive. Definitely need a reservation.
Really good food and a huge menu. Excellent service. Lunch and dinner.
Utica is full of restaurants right in the small downtown. Also the restaurant in Starved rock lodge is OK but it’s the scenery in the park to go for.
