Hello again,
Thanks for the tips Steve and Dale. I should have mentioned I'm in Australia, which does complicate things a bit.
I've corresponded with railroad supply about their U.S.R.A. drawings, unfortunately they wanted ~$290 to ship ~$45 dollars worth of drawings, and they don't do digital downloads. So they are on the last resort list. Or until I find someone else who wants drawings from them to split the shipping with.
I have an order in with the Norfolk and Western historical society for a bunch of K2 and Y3 class drawings which are a 4-8-2 and 2-8-8-2 respectively, which are supposedly exact U.S.R.A. engines but on N&W drawings.
I have a request in with the California State Railroad Museum Library & Archives for a bunch of U.S.R.A. drawings that they list on their website, but of course the time of year also slows things down a bit.
I have started looking at the DeGoyler Library, but my search skills must be sub par because I cannot find U.S.R.A. or CB&Q in the online list of their catalogue. They do have a bunch of stuff that is not in the online catalogue however, so I'll have to try contacting the library and see if they can sort through their off-line records and let me know what they might have available.
I've also downloaded the indexes of Baldwin drawings from DeGoyler and will be going through those in the next few days to see if I can identify which engines were the U.S.R.A. builds. My initial look hasn't found any under U.S.R.A. but there are a bunch of United States Government orders that have no more details like date or wheel arrangement, so those will all need cross-checking with the actual orders details in the various volumes.
Cheers,
Brad
