First of all, there is no such place, nor was there ever a Lead, Colorado.  The Black Hills are in South Dakota, as is the town of Lead.  Might I suggest you refer to an atlas before you ask questions.  I have that book as well, and it only says Lead, so you were on your own as to which state it was in, ergo I recommend any good atlas.

Subject: [CBQ] Lead trolley photo
 

I am trying to find a better copy of the attached photo which was taken sometime after 1905 at Lead, Colorado. The photo appears on page 142 of Mildred Fielder’s book “Railroads of the Black Hills”. My particular interest is the CB&Q trolley and its trailer in the left foreground of the photo. There is no origin of the photo shown in the book.
