[CBQ] FW: Alton & North images

On May  5, 1962 there was a 4960 fan trip from St. Louis to Centralia and return. Does anyone know the routing the train took? Please reply to all with any answers.

The 4960 trip STL-Centralia: what route did that take? Surely not Alton to Beardstown and down to Centralia and back? 

Would have had to be an overnight/one way day one, return next day trip?

I apologize that I have not had the time to do this search for you until today. Color images on these lines are scarcer than hen’s teeth. I’ll be sending you the following images from the BRHS Flickr collection via We Transfer. They are what they are because many of them were pulled from many sources, that’s why many have unknown dates and or photogs. Hi Dave,

Did I respond to this? I'm looking for CB&Q/BN images from western Illinois, from Galesburg south to East Alton.

Beardstown to Girard, Beardstown to East Alton, Galesburg to Quincy.

I started laying out that chapter today and discovered I'm still missing a lot from that region.

Color action shots preferred. Roster shots don't fit the focus of the book, unless it's framed within a facility, such as a shop or depot.

Any help appreciated.

Following up on our conversation at Collinsville regarding color images of Alton and north on the Q.  I’ve looked at our members only area and see several possibilities.  Just how far north of Alton are you seeking?  Are you looking only in Illinois, or west across the river?
