below is a post of an upcoming auction from JM hobby Supply. Links are included.
Passing this along simply as FYI. I did look through the Sat.10/12 listings. They include very large numbers of Burlington Annual reports from the 1800s, scores of Q horse blanket employee TT from 1910’s forward and the later standard ETTs up through the
1960s.

the Sunday 10/13 auction is model RR including a large amount of brass.

Subject: NEXT JM HOBBY SUPPLY AND RR ARTIFACT AUCTION NOW POSTED!---OCTOBER 12-13, 2024!

Hello to all bidders in our JM Hobby Supply and Railroad Artifacts Auctions!

We wanted to let you know that we just posted our latest auctions to Live Auctioneers (links found below) and give you some of the details about these sales, as well as registration information!

The dates are Saturday, October 12, and Sunday, October 13, 2024. Both sales will begin at 9AM Central Standard Time. The Saturday session is broadcast LIVE, and will feature all of the railroad artifacts. The Sunday session is a TIMED sale, and will feature all of the model railroad items. Bidding is the same for each sale. You just won’t hear or see an auctioneer or our staff during Sunday’s session. This worked extremely well for our June sales and drew a lot of compliments from you, so we’ll stick with it!

Let’s discuss each session! Both days will have over 500 lots up for bid. On Saturday, the railroad artifact sale is a little different than normal, but we think it is really exciting, as we have two large railroad paper estates featured for the first time! These items date back all the way to the 1830s and 1840s, with a lot of items in the 1850 to 1920 range. These include timetables (horse blanket, employee, and public), annual reports, bills of lading and other paperwork, books, manuals, brochures, maps, posters, broadsides, and a whole lot more! There are also what we would call “runs” of employee and public timetables from around the 1940s through the early 1970s or 1980s, or near complete runs. Some are even NEW, and UNUSED! There are even blocks of timetables still in their original wrap!! Many things you have never seen! Lots of stuff from early predecessor railroads. Even if you don’t wish to bid….you might really enjoy just looking at some of the photos of these things! Lots of really cool stuff with some great artwork! It was easy for our entire staff to get sidetracked as we read and perused many of the items ourselves!

Of course, Saturday will also feature RR lanterns, spittoons, tools, signs (some amazing PRR and NYC station and station approach signs, plus PRR steam loco number boards!), RR milk cans, railroad stretchers, and even a PRR telephone that is really awesome! The last of the tubular lanterns from the New York estate will also be offered. A featured item right at the beginning of the sale is an original Milwaukee Road Hiawatha metal logo sign. The provenance comes with the sign as does the story of the man who had this, and another identical piece, which sold for $8,000 at auction just a few years ago!

Sunday is exciting to us because of the local connection, as we are featuring the second session of the brass train estate of Lochmann Trains from Manitowoc, WI. As you may know, our friend Dennis Lochmann passed away earlier this year after battling Alzheimers for eight years, and his widow, Shari, approached us last year to help her distribute the remainder of the inventory. He was one of the largest brass dealers in the USA, and there are another 250 lots of brass HO steam and diesel locomotives, passenger cars, freight cars, and structures in this sale (plus a few brass items in N, O, and G scale). Most are new in the original boxes. There are another 250 lots from other consignors, with plastic locos, freight, and passenger in HO, N, O, and G, as well as track, buildings, detail parts, scenery materials, DCC power systems, figures, and a whole lot more! We test all locomotives so you’ll know their operating condition as well!
