Hi Rupert.  The 1882 TT does not have the herald.  I will fax you the 1882 TT in the morning.  Bud.

Thanks for the offer. Looking at Randall’s timetable, the train times were changed between 1893 and 1897. Is it possible to get a scan of the Chicago-Omaha-Denver page from 1898 (or the whole timetable if that is easier) to compare with the Official Guide details? I’d prefer an actual timetable to the Guide if possible.

For a different project, does the 1882 timetable feature a Burlington Route herald on the front as I am trying to establish when the herald was first used, as opposed to acceptance?  The earliest I have found so far is a map from 1883 and a timetable from 1884.

Hi Rupert.  I found a couple of TT at the Galesburg Railroad Museum this morning that are close.  We have one from December 1, 1898 with a red cover and the fold over format.  Pages 21 and 22 are Denver, Lincoln and Omaha to Peoria and Chicago and pages 23 and 24 are the opposite direction.  We also have a 1882 horseblanket type tt for the Chicago and Galesburg Divisions, a November 1893 for the Chicago, Galesburg and St. Louis divisions and one for the Iowa Division for the same date (November 5, 1893).  I would be glad to scan any or all of these for you, just let me know if any sound interesting for your article.  Bud Linroth ( for the Galesburg Railroad Museum).

Thanks (and to Mike) but I already have an extract from the 1897 Guide. I am hoping to find an actual timetable.

I have 1897 Official Guides for Jan, Feb, Jul, Aug.  Would have to cut out the CB&Q info, as each book is over 300,000 K.  Which month would you like?  Jim Gattis

Would anyone have a timetable for 1897 – I’m needing a scan of the Chicago-Denver train times for a BRHS article.
