Been dealing with intermittent power outages due to high winds in the middle Tennessee area.
I took photos of various Milwaukee Road locos in the Owatonna, MN area (where my grandparents, aunts, and uncles lived). I have shots of the “GP20s”, and SD7/9 with the plates. GP7/9, RSD4/5, various switchers, and cab units not so much. So it was hit or miss for some reason.

Hello, I believe Brian is saying that Milwaukee locomotives typically did not have those plates when delivered. So I would guess the plate was an option of the ordering railroad. Ted

Mike Louis, & Hol:
Did EMD & GE povide the model designation plates for all of their customers' locomotives ?
Or were the model designation plates a BR-only practice ?
What font was used for the letters & numbers in the model designation plates ?
Thanks in advance !!!
