Correct.  Rear car is a pre-war chair car.  (Dome)-parlor car had been discontinued (and dining-refreshment car replaced with a baggage-buffet) effective April 1, 1968.

In my opinion I’m thinking one of the pre-war coaches based on the skirting.  Same series of coaches the “pattern” domes were rebuilt from at Aurora Shops.  Not sure if there’s some vents on the roof like a dining car might have but I can’t see enough detail on the phone.

Shoreham Shop did these cars a while back.

There is a very nice slide on eBay right now of the Afternoon Zephyr in St. Paul in 1969. It is a four car train with E9A 9987A leading another E8/9A and four cars.

Can anyone identify the observation car on this train?

Is an HO model or close stand-in available?
