Dave-could you post this on the Burlington Bulletin Board? Its obviously very historic and I am sure there will be answers to Quimby's Question.

Thank you

Dear Group,

Does anybody know what happened to the original Hannibal & St. Joseph Railroad Mail Car #1 (or its sister car)?

This is considered by many as the first purpose built RPO car.

I saw the (CB&Q) replica in the Patee House Museum in St. Joe in July.

After looking through Burlington Route Historical Society (BRHS) Burlington Bulletins Nos. 8 and 45, and looking on the internet, I can't find an answer to this question.

I'm writing an article for the Casey Jones Unit (trains on stamps) of the American Topical Association.

Any help or information will be greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Russ Quimby
