BRHS is not planning on recording the presentation. We lack the equipment to record, volunteers to do the filming, volunteers to edit the film,etc.

The board May again discuss this subject at our next meeting.

The presentation is open to all who would like to attend. The BRHS will have membership information and a select number of our publication “TheBurlington Bulletin” on hand for sale. One of our Bulletins is an in depth study of the history of the C.B.&Q. in Burlington,Iowa written by Dave Lotz.

Subject: [CBQ] Upcoming Presentation on the History of Railroads in Burlington,Iowa

 

BRHS Director and editor Dave Lotz will be giving a presentation on the history of railroads in Burlington, Iowa on Saturday September 24th. Since the C.B.&Q. had the largest presence in Burlington the bulk of the presentation will be on the Burlington railroad and its predecessors. Topics covered will be operations, facilities including the shops, yard, roundhouses, depots, and the Mississippi River bridges.

The location will be the Des Moines County Historical Society Heritage Museum, 501 North 4th St., Burlington, Iowa. Presentation starts at 1:00 p.m. and is scheduled for one hour.
