If any Q fans on this list happen to have early BN era (1971-‘75) photos of
the following Rochelle,IL scenes please contact me off list(please off list).
Would like to use them in a future Friends of Burlington Northern article on BN
operations at Rochelle in 1973.
Looking for any of the following:
-cars at Rochelle Utilities power plant(IC,PRR,N&W coal hoppers)
-cars at Carnation(yard and leads into distribution center)
-Swift plant and cars
-looking either east or west at the big curve with cars on storage and/or
passing track
-Standard Oil with tank cars spotted for loading
-depot with box car spotted behind it on house track
-GP7 tied up on house #1 east of depot. Better yet with GN goat herald waycar
too.
-Del Monte plant 199 with cars in the scene
-Del Monte plant 110 with a car or two spotted
-can plant scene with cars spotted
-Rochelle Rose with car of coal spotted
-CNW transfer with cars on it
-gondolas on the passing track east of depot or at can plant
-box car spotted at Rochelle furniture
-box cars spotted at Caron Spinning and or Rochelle yarn.
Especially looking for scenes with the ever present 50’ RBL boxcars that hauled
all Rochelle’s products.Any and all reporting marks and there was a literal
rainbow of them.
