[CBQ] Fred Harvey was a Q Freight Agent

I’m reading Walter Bornemans “Iron Horses,America’s Race to Bring the Railroads 
West”. It’s focus is primarily on the west and southwest expansion of transcons 
in  the post civil war period.
One thing that comes through from time to time in a few chapters is 
confirmation of the old Burlington add regarding the number of former Q 
employees who became leaders other railroads.
But the one I didn’t know until just now was that Fred Harvey(of ATSF eating 
house fame) was the Q’s Western Freight Agent when he got the idea to raise the 
standard for food offerings at railroad stops. He entered a parternship with 
another gentlemen for locations,on the Kansas Pacific whil still the Q agent. 
Hist Q travels kept him away from his partnership and things went south. He 
approached Q management with his idea and was turned down.

He went to the ATSF with his idea in 1876 and the rest is history.
