All-
I might add that the query made me pull out my Waycars Drawings addendum and look at it again….
….what a treasure it is! It contains all the drawings that Q modelers have been able to pull together and many new scale drawings for modeling purposes….certainly enough to make restoration to the 13855.
While I don’t want to diminish the importance of preserving the car, there are a good number of sisters that have been restored to at least some degree and people around that have done the work.
The excellence of the original design made the Q wood waycars some of the longest-lived equipment in the United States….some of the cars can trace their origin back to 1868 IIRC…and they lasted well into the BN era….even retaining their oak wood and cast / wrought iron trucks!
