Bill,

There might be a third alternative.  I have aerials of Omaha in 1958 and you have the Sanborn maps from 1962.  The silos look fairly new and I am wondering if they built them in the mid sixties to maximize use of the covered hoppers just entering into service.

Looking at the Sanborn Maps (which were updated through 1962 for Omaha), there are no silos at the brewery. There is a large grain elevator northwest of the brewery which is what suspect is in the image. It is a couple of blocks from the brewery.

In Burlington Bulletin #20 it shows a General American covered hoppers supposedly at the brewery with silos in the background. I have yet to find any pictures of the brewery with silos on the property. Were they tucked away on the northwest side? Or possibly the shot was at a nearby elevator that served the brewery?
