All-
While on the subject of CB&Q DA-6s…..
The cars were very nearly identical to the earier Class DA-5 cars built by ACF in 1917 as CB&Q #s 170-177. The Pullman cars were built in 1922 as CB&Q class DA-6 #s 178 - 187, C&S # 706 and FW&D # 263. Pullman built an additional six cars in 1924 numbered 188-193. These were apparently Pullman-owned and intended for use on the CB&Q as they were identical to the ACF clones built two years earlier.
I don’t know if the C&S #706 or FW&D #263 got painted in aluminum, but FW&D #265 did and it was ex-CB&Q DA-5 #175 if that is close enough to a DA-6 in aluminum and ribbon style lettering for you.
As far as I know no photo of the Pullman-owned 188-193 have surfaced while they were in service on the CB&Q until being sold to the KCS and ACL. We don’t know if they had BURLINGTON on the letterboard or PULLMAN.

No Q DA-6s were ever painted aluminum; the only CB&Q diners ever receiving aluminum paint were 171 and 176 for Chicago-Twin Cities service. Most DA-6s never even got ribbon lettering In place of their RR Roman.

I guess that explains why Charlie doesn’t have a photo of a DA 6 in SSS. Maybe nobody has one.

Hi Nelson
I looked thru all my photos of Diners but all I could find was 182 in green
No 183 in silver is renumbered MofW 251151
Sorry but some one may have it.

Check the Flickr archive on the member’s section of the BRHS web site for pictures of DA-5 171 and 176 in simulated stainless steel paint. I didn’t find a DA-6 in SSS.
