Ken:  I could be wrong, but I seem to remember the 9908 as having a fairly low pitched single chime horn.  I saw it quite a bit around Hannibal in the early 60's on Train #44.  It definitely did not sound like the E-units.

What horns did the Silver Charger use?

I don’t know if they were changed but I am looking for original to 1940.

And while asking what is a good sound unit for engine and horn?
