I have both of the books. I think they are very good and well worth what the C&OHS is charging for them. The observation car book has many photos in B&W and color, and lots of floor plans. No elevations.

I have both of Doughty’s Zephyr books, The Early Zephyrs and The Postwar Years, and they do a good job of covering the history of the Zephyrs, with lots of black and white pictures and a few color pictures at the end. If you are interested in these trains, it’s a good read and with useful modeling information.

 

I don’t have the Observation Car book, nor have I ever seen it.

Good morning,

  I’ve purchased as few books from the C&O Historical Society in the past and because of that I’m on their email list. In the latest email this week they highlighted books that they had on sale and two of those were Burlington Route Passenger books. I was curious for those that have these two books what they think of them?
