Hello,
Someone whose eBay moniker is poppop2000 is selling reproductions of Burlington and other railway menus on eBay for $6.99 each plus shipping. He used many of my scans and pdfs of menus that I posted on the Streamliner Memories web site. The web site specifically states that people may freely use those pdfs for research and non-commercial purposes but did not authorize anyone to use them for commercial purposes.
Ironically, his eBay ads only show the front covers of the menus. I asked him why he doesn’t show the rest of the menu. He said he was afraid people would download the images and not buy the menu from him.
I asked him if the menus were marked “Reproduction” anywhere inside. He said no but that the menus were printed a different size from the originals so should not be confusing. However, not everyone knows how big the original menus were, so I suspect some people will try to sell his menus as originals.
I have asked him to stop using my scans and would discourage anyone from buying these menus from him.
