A point to consider here, is that the paint jobs dated from 1929, and this is long before the super durable Imron (epoxy) paints we have today that last 30 or more years. By the time 3 or 4 winters passed, even the best paint jobs were getting weathered and in need of a repaint, and the trains involved needed to be spiffy, so my guess is that by '35 or '36, the cars probably were re-painted. In the case of Pullman cars, maybe sooner.
