Greetings,
I am saddened to inform you that longtime friend, CB&Q author, historian,
photographer, genealogist and consummate gentlemen, Al Holck, passed away this
morning at the age of 93.
Many of you knew Al, read his books, perused his photographs and enjoyed his
congenial company at the annual meets. Al was meticulous in his research and
always ready to learn something new about his favorite railroad especially the
history of the railroad in Wyoming where Al worked as a geologist for several
years.
Al believed in sharing material and did so freely in hopes his lifelong pursuit
and contributions to the history of the railroad would be seen by all and not
just a few. Al’s last book, The CB&Q in Wyoming will be published by Mile Post
206 Publishing.
