You need to either find a scaled drawing of the station and canopies or find an overhead photo. If working from a drawing, divide the length of the canopy by 80ft to find the approximate number passenger cars that would be accommodate.
Here are a few sources to consider: CB&Q Assorted Buildings Part II Drawings (CD) (Burlington Route Hist Soc) Book "Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Facilities in Color, Vol 2: Burlington Depots and Structures of the Hannibal Division" [Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad, Station, Galesburg, Beardstown] by Peterson, Art., Dr. and P. Kent Hannah 1. http://www.illinoisancestors.org/knox/railroads/railroads.html 2. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chicago,_Burlington_and_Quincy_Railroad_Depot_(Galesburg,_Illinois) 3. "Galesburg’s Oldest: Seminary St. depots gone, not forgotten" http://www.galesburg.com/article/20140629/NEWS/140629719 (photo + story of 1884 station) 4. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=4401925 (1913 station photo) 5. http://knox.illinoisgenweb.org/hispcrailroads.htm (various exterior and interior photos 1884 and 1912 depots)
6. http://www.usgennet.org/usa/il/county/knox/images/railro2.jpg #7 is your best place to start. It shows a view of the station from trackside, showing a portion of the canopies. My guess from the photo is that there is room for 6 Pullman passenger cars under the canopies-the postcard shows space for at least 3 on one-half of the station. _._,_._,_
