[CBQ] NW2 BN536 (CB&Q 9239) Paint Scheme

I came across this 1972 past eBay photo of BN 536 (ex-CB&Q 9239)

in a simplified late 1960s CB&Q paint scheme. There is a current eBay photo

with the same BN number but in the EoW/WofZ scheme. Also unusual in the new scheme is the red/yellow sill stripe as well as the red/yellow separation stripe on the cab. The end striping is wider than most late 1960s striping.

Sure looks as if the hood was repainted or swapped, but not the entire unit. Anyone have a story about why this unit appears to have had two CB&Q schemes after the BN merger?
