I don’t know why you feel that Rupert’s comment “if anyone lives in the area…” was out of line. 

Rupert is one of the most helpful, prolific, and diligent researchers in the BRHS.

Some people ask questions or make requests here for information without even doing a superficial internet search.  This was not that sort of situation. 

It may be that the Historical Society has the original of the print, screened or not, at a larger size or better resolution.  If one of the list members lives in Northern Illinois and could make a phone call to make an inquiry I don’t think that would be a terrible imposition on anybody….they might even know a HS member or want to make a contact with them.
