That fan trip produced a lot of photos and a movie or two.   I think it was the one that captured some F units going by westbound on the track elevation with two distinct shades of paint on one of the units….which led me to the conclusion that for a while EMD and perhaps the Q itself changed the “Imitation Aluminum” paint to a darker gray shade (not to start another thread on this controversial subject!!!).   I haven’t done any formal research on the topic but IIRC it was sometime in the Phase II F3 production based on color builders photos and in-service shots.
