Leo,

That was the trip with 4-6-0 Class K2 637 and GP7 no. 235. The trip originated in Chicago with S4 Hudson  no. 4000 pulling the train from Union Station to Aurora where 637 and the Geep replaced the Hudson in the lower yard by the the two roundhouses. The train operated from Aurora to Streator, to LaSalle/Peru and then over to Zearing. From there it headed back to Aurora where 4000 replaced the ten wheeler and the geep for the return trip to Chicago. My dad and I rode that trip. It was my first fan trip. Below are several photos from that trip. Somewhere, I have a photo of the bridge over the Illinois River at LaSalle, taken from one of the dome cars. Our arrival at CUS was late that evening. Many more wonderful trips followed

The first two views are at Aurora. The third view is at Sheridan, I believe and the fourth is Streator.
