All- The comment below was made on the Passenger Car List. Other than WWII photos of some prewar Budd cars (likely to have been included in the Exposition Flyer and therefore going to the West Coast) I don't recall seeing photos of Q Budd cars with painted roofs. What did the CB&Q do to keep their roofs from leaking? Charlie Vlk As time went on most roads (not all) changed the roofs of their Budd sleepers from stainless to black. The reason was because the roofs of the Budd sleepers leaked.
