As I recall, the Q had a run-through agreement with the Central. While most run-through power made it no further east than Elkhart, there is photographic evidence that CB&Q power made it all the way to Buffalo on occasion, as can be seen in this photo of CB&Q 979 taken at Frontier Yard.
