I'm looking at a "report of railroad mail service performed by the CB&Q" dated 4/11/30 for RMS sixth division. Each train is listed by number and the communities served. There is a column for the length of the RPO compartment  and a column for the length of storage cars. The train from Oregon to Forreston and return has a storage car, but the length is listed as "b.". The train from Chicago to Mt. Morris and return has a 60' storage car, but the "b" notation appears in the RPO column. Does anyone know what "b" stands for? Further down for a train between Aurora and Shabbona the code is "e." Any guesses?
