This is not much help, but I saw Silver Charger a lot at Hannibal in the early 60's, and from what I recall, its horn was a single note with a low pitched sound, but not what I would call a 'blat'.  As to the particular note, I don't know.  It was not shrill like the two-chimed sounds of the E units.

Many years back, I bought an re-motored and DCC non-sound decoder
equipped HO scale Hallmark Silver Charger from Mike Spoor after he
visited my layout. He told me I needed more than he did. It ran fairly
well though it would occasionally stall in spots. It more than
adequately pulled the 3 car train it is assigned.

I just put a Tsunami 2 decoder in it along with a current keeper and it
now runs as well as any of my modern plastic locomotives. Pretty amazing
for a loco with a chain drive and only powered on the lead truck (as per
the prototype).

My question is what air horns was Silver Charger equipped with
especially post-1960? I looked over the railroad loco diagram and the
Bulletin on shovel noses, but I did not see any reference to the air
horns. Anyone have any idea? I've currently have the unit set to use a
Leslie A125/A200 combination.
