All:

For a long time I’ve had the SMU Baldwin Drawings catalog as a folder in my CBQ/C&S/FWD external-drive directory. As such I checked to see what they have for the O5s. In a word, nothing. There are several drawings – both erection and details – for other classes including, would you believe, the 2-6-6-2s.

Several years ago I purchased a hard copy of the ATSF Class 1950 2-8-0s for use in a 1:48 modeling project. My interest was that the drawing showed the as-designed coal version of the locomotive rather than the more common oil burners. The ATSF drawing was locomotive only, nothing for the tender.

The De Golyer index briefly describes what the drawing shows as well as its size. Moreover, when purchased “they” would only sell a hard copy, no digital. I had the print digitized locally.

Try Ozark Rail Sales.  They have a plethora of odd parts, and just might have one.

Is there any where to get a CB&q northern whistle?? Maybe borrow one to make a copy for 5614 and the other surviving northerns? I have a church organ pipe place nearby and I myself am pretty good at casting...

Hello Matthew,

I'm aware that many of the Q's steam engineering drawings were given to the
DeGolyer Library at Southern Methodist University.

Here is their website  link: https://www.smu.edu/libraries/degolyer

Starting the process for at minimum to cosmetically restore 5614 ..there is
interest in a return to rail if possible..where do I get specifications for
boiler and  tires and cylinders should we want to move beyond cosmetic
restoration? I understand it is a  problem to get information not sure if
there are records for a in-depth boiler and locomotive study. Thks
