Big slap to the head to me on that. I saw the mention of SD40 and that led to my thinking. By all means let’s get it painted back to one of the Q schemes. Carry on
Erik Spoonmore BNSF 1727 is an ex-Q SD9. The plan for it is to go to a Q scheme, but last I knew, they hadn't decided black or red yet.

Only the C&S had the SD40 and IMO it wouldn’t be prototypical to have one painted chinese red on display in Brookfield where it never ran. Erik Spoonmore This is cool! BNSF has also donated in the last few years a blue and yellow warbonnet Santa Fe SD-40-2 to the city of Marceline, Missouri. The locals have worked on getting the paint spruced up and it looks quite nice. That makes 2 locos Marceline has now since they also have a Santa Fe by way of KC,M,and O 2-8-0 on display.
I wonder if Brookfield will keep their new locomotive in BN green or if we might see it get painted for the Burlington Route?
The BNSF 1727 has finally been moved to it’s final destination on display in Brookfield Mo
