There also appears to be a Dome car in the consist towards the
rear of the train. I know that, on occasion, in the late 60's,
KCZ/ARZ Dome/Coach/Lounge/Dormitory cars 'Silver Garden' &
'Silver Patio' were used as substitutes for the normally assigned
Heavyweight SSS Diner/Lounge cars. These Dome cars could serve
evening snacks and limited morning breakfast selections to the
passengers. This is in accordance with the train consists shown
in John Strauss' Burlington Route Passenger Trains Vol. 3.

1. Interesting that this was a daytime shot! Can anyone tell if it
is heading to or from Chicago?
2. Nice headend car consist. I can identify a ex-Troop Sleeper, GN
Express Reefer in Orange/Green, and a Havelock baggage car. Can
anyone else identify the second and third car?
